Other UK Atlases

Bedfordshire is not the only county in the UK to be running or have already completed a tetrad-based atlas of the birds of its region. We have a tradition of working closely with any neighbouring counties who happen to be running similar projects - on this particular occasion this means Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire all of whom are working on county level surveys as well as the national level. Across the UK there are, in total, some 36 local level atlases running in conjunction with the BTO survey and data is being shared generously wherever possible.

Since the first national atlas organised by the BTO between 1968 and 1972 many hours of fieldwork have gone into producing other atlases. To date, only a few have an online presence, but those that do have been collected here.

The links on the left provide access to those that we know about. If, as an atlas organiser or fieldworker in another part of the country, you are aware of a local atlas website that we are missing, please let us know by .
